Read about SEACON’s Mobile Connector Display Vehicle
Back in 1996 SEACON took a new approach to showcase its vast range of underwater connectors to its wide audience. Instead of carrying a few samples by hand to customers, SEACON introduced a connector display van as a mobile means to reach more people and give the ability to show hundreds of different types of connector products. In 9 years of service, the mobile showroom visited 35 US states and covered more than 160,000 miles (257,495 kilometres).
A second generation mobile showroom was introduced in 2006 and to date has visited over 42 states and British Columbia, Canada and travelled over 170,000 miles (273,588 kilometres).
Today, SEACON’s connector display vehicle has over 1,000 connector samples spread across 25 different product ranges including:
- 55–66 SERIES
- GLASS SEALED
- WET-CON/Micro WET-CON
- METAL SHELL SERIES (MSS)
- GLASS REINFORCED EPOXY (GRE)
Applications where SEACON products are also showcased in the vehicle and include:
- DOWNHOLE FIBRE OPTICS
- MIL-SPEC SYSTEMS
- BLOWOUT PREVENTER (BOP) MULITIPLEX CONNECTORS AND CABLES
- TOWED ARRAY INSERTS AND CONNECTORS
- UNDERWATER CAMERAS, LIGHT, SENSOR AND INSPECTION CABLES AND CONNECTORS
- PROXIMITY AND LIMIT SWITCHES
The SEACON mobile display van is configured to feature the latest products and has been an extremely versatile tool in helping promote underwater connectors to current and prospective customers over large geographical distances.
At the start of March 2014, the mobile connector showroom will be heading over to SEACON’s manufacturing facility in El Cajon, CA, where it will tour around the West Coast for a month before returning back to its base in Houston, TX.
